History: Faith Chapel was originally instituted in 1885. At this point in time, no historical information is available for the original congregation. However, in 1963, Washington Presbyterian’s congregation, formerly located at 1030 Washington Street in another brick building of similar form, moved to North 10th Street, where they continue to worship today.

Congregation/ space: This building contains a sanctuary space with stained glass as well a social hall for their members to gather. Washington Presbyterian’s congregation recently received a new pastor, Pastor Snead who, according to one congregant, is full of life and has a lot of new ideas to bring to the church, including drawing younger people into the congregation. Pastor Snead left us with a quote about working together collectively, saying “It’s not you, it’s not me, it’s us.”
